So what do we mean be cosy crime? This is a sub-genre of crime writing and usually involves amateur sleuths fathoming out who did it in close-knit communities, with limited violence and no gory details. Readers care about their protagonists, and the world they inhabit, and gain the satisfaction of good triumphing over evil as the truth is revealed and the perpetrator brought to justice.
