No time to write

One of the commonest complaints amongst writers is lack of time. We all juggle the demands of work, family and the stuff of everyday living. So where do we find time for writing? Identifying a regular slot for writing means taking a realistic look at your diary. For some writers it can mean getting up early and writing for an hour or so before anyone else surfaces. For others it can mean forgoing an hour in front of a screen, big or small, of an evening, in order to advance a cherished writing project. If you want to improve your skills, finding time to attend a writing course can be just as problematic. If you find a course you want to attend, they are often on a day or at a time that doesn’t work for you. If it’s over a number of weeks you might find that you cannot make one of the sessions. Here at ‘Write This Time’, we try to hold some of our courses in the evenings and at weekends. If they are virtual, then sessions can be recorded so you don’t miss out if you can’t make one. Sometimes an intensive one-day workshop or a distance learning solution can fit in better. Check out our website for details of what is currently on offer. If writing is important to you then it’s worth carving out some time to devote to it, so hold that space and get creative!
