Description | The Award in Education and Training is a level 3 (A-level equivalent), nationally recognised, generic teaching qualification. Whatever your subject specialism, this course will show you how to teach it, both face-to-face or virtually. It is an entry point, introductory teaching qualification for those who want to teach adults and covers the following, in five sessions, taught live and interactively, via zoom, by two experienced teachers. You will learn the following:
Teaching methods will include whole group teaching and small group work in breakout rooms and the course tutors aim to provide a fun and relaxed learning environment on this intensive course. You will be assessed by completing a portfolio at the conclusion of the course, which consists of answering a number of questions, plus compiling notes and handouts from the course. Additionally, in the final session, each candidate will deliver an assessed fifteen minute on-line teaching session to their colleagues, on a topic of their choice, with individual feedback from the tutors. |
Anything else | No previous teaching experience is required but you will need to have a concept of who and what you’d like to teach. You will need to complete and return an initial assessment that will be sent to you once you have enrolled. There will be a thirty minute lunch break and some brief, stretch and stroll screen breaks, as required.
