As writers, we often have good intentions about what we are going to write, that don’t quite translate into finished writing. There are myriad good reasons for this. We all have busy lives with many demands on our time, and trying to find and hold a space for our writing can be difficult. There can also be that nagging, inner critical voice suggesting that our writing isn’t good enough and that even if we do write, it’s never going to find a wider audience. This fear of failure can manifest itself in a variety of procrastination activities that result in us not writing.
However, help is at hand! Attending a writing course promotes the habit of writing regularly. It makes you part of a community of other writers and helps you to improve your skills, gaining confidence in your writing. You can also use a writing mentor for individual feedback and help with target setting, moving a project forward with support, right through to publication. So if you are a writer who is not writing, or not writing as much as you’d like, check out the options in our shop and sharpen your pencil…
